VIRGINIA CHARLOTTE HRUSKA, age 93 of Faribault, died on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Born in Lexington Township, Le Sueur County, on January 19, 1925, Virginia was the daughter of Frank and Emily (Kalina) Holetz. On June 26, 1948, Virginia married Charles Hruska at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. They farmed on the Hruska farm in rural Waterville. Prior to marriage, Virginia was a sewing machine operator at Munsingwear in Montgomery. She later worked as a Program Assistant for the LeSueur County Extension office, and held several positions at the Faribault Regional Center. Virginia was an avid Scrabble player who also loved baking, gardening, sewing and other needle crafts, traveling, and corresponding with friends and family. She was a long-time member of St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny and was involved in the rosary society. She was a member of the Faribault Eagles Club, and a 4-H leader for many years.
Virginia is survived by four daughters, Rebecca (George) Lieser of Ham Lake, Lucinda Hruska-Claeys of Bloomington, Victoria Teich of Faribault, and Martha (Ron) Bisek of Eagan; four grandchildren, Meredith (David) Kruse of Madison, WI, Andrew (Jennifer) Teich of Streamwood, IL, Charles (Kelley) Bisek of Inver Grove Heights, and Ruth Bisek of Eagan; two great-grandchildren; brother Milton (Lois) Holetz of Montgomery; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons-in-law, Richard Claeys and Kevin Teich; grandchild, Patrick Claeys; and sister, Olga McDonald.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, April 9, 2018, at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny. Visitation will be one hour before the church service. Interment at Calvary Cemetery in Kilkenny. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Courage Kenny Foundation, the Waterville-Elysian Food Shelf, the Cannon River Watershed Partnership, or donors choice.
