VIOLA E. HENKENSIEFKEN, age 79 of Waseca died on Friday, March 25, 2016 at the Janesville Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 14, 1936 in Waseca, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Henry and Tillie (Stenson) Dobberstein.  She attended Waldorf High School.  Viola married Emerson Henkensiefken on June 28, 1953 at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca.   She had worked primarily as a homemaker and farm wife, but had also worked at Birdseye, the Waseca Eagles Club, Yellow Mushroom, and the Waseca Senior Center.  Viola enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, baking, gardening, and playing cards.    She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca where she was active with Ladies Aid, quilters, and taught Sunday School.   She was also a past member of the Waseca Eagles and American Legion Auxiliary.
Viola is survived by her children, Linda (Daryl) Youngerberg of Janesville, Delores (Thomas) Becker of Albert Lea, Mary (Thomas) Kimbro of Owatonna, David Henkensiefken of New Richland, Susan (Robert) Stoltz of Waseca, Gary (Debbie) Henkensiefken of Ellendale, Karen (Rick) Ditlevson of Owatonna, and Dale (Crystal Young) Henkensiefken of Waseca; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.   She is also survived by sister, Donna Bechthold of Eden Prairie; sister-in-law, Darlene Dobberstein of Waseca; half-sister, Ella Mitchell of Kasson; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Carl; and half brother-in-law, Richard Mitchell.
Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 4-7 PM and continue on Saturday, one hour before services at the church.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
