Victor C. St. John, age 72 of Alma City, died on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at his home. Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 22nd at 9:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville with Rev. Dr. Larry Griffin officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville, and will continue on Monday morning for one hour prior to services, at church. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to donor''s choice. Victor Charles was born on November 3, 1936 in Alton Township, Waseca County, Minnesota to Charles and Anna (Krienke) St. John. He was baptized on November 22, 1936 and confirmed on March 18, 1951, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1957. On November 30, 1963 Victor was united in marriage to Shirley Dorothy Roeker. Vic and Shirley lived their entire married life in Alma City. Over the years Vic had been employed with Buker Brother Farms, Waseca Lumber Mart, and for the last 24 years of his career with E.F. Johnson Co. in Waseca. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville, a charter member of the V.F.W Sweet-Sommers Post #1642 in Waseca. Vic loved children, and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and collecting "stuff"! He is survived by his wife Shirley of Alma City, and his son Michael of Centennial, CO; by his three grandchildren Christopher, Stephanie, and Cody; by his sister Irene Warner of Waterville, and his sister-in-law Mary St. John of Elysian; by many nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his son Steve 2006; by his four brothers Alfred (Eunice), Edward, Fritz, and Clarence; by his brother-in-law Carl Warner.
