Velma L. Morris
VELMA LEONA MORRIS, age 80 of Waseca, died at the Pleasant Manor Nursing home in Faribault on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.
Born in Le Sueur County on August 23, 1937, Velma was the daughter of Donald and Florence (Brown) Bluhm.  She attended school in Waterville.  On June 9, 1954 she married Glen C. Morris at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Waterville.  Soon after their wedding they moved to Texas while Glen was in the military.  Then returning to Waterville, Velma worked at Backmans and later Herters.  The couple then moved to Waseca and raised their three sons.  Velma started cooking at Waseca High School in 1972, where she eventually became head cook.  She absolutely loved cooking and visiting with the students until her retirement in 1997.  In addition to cooking, after her retirement she enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends, annual garage sales, doting on her grandchildren, and having a good cup of coffee.  She was the treasurer of the Waterville Senior Citizens for many years, enjoyed being a Tupperware Sales Representative, and was also a loving grandmother figure to the Owatonna Scuba Diving Club.
Velma is survived by her husband Glen; three sons, Chuck (Melodie) Morris of Faribault, Bradley Morris of Waseca, and Bruce (Brenda) Morris of Waseca; five grandchildren; and two siblings, Virginia (Larry) Chapel of Livingston, MT, and Donald (Judi) Bluhm of Lindstrom, MN.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Arlie Bluhm.
Visitation will be held from 3-6PM on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, June 25, 2018 at North Waseca Lutheran Church, with Rev. Kristen Anderson officiating.  Interment will follow at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville.
