Tillie Dally August 3, 1918 - October 13, 2010

Tillie Newport Dally, age 92 of Faribault, died on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Faribault Church of Christ, with Pastor Garry Rosenau, officiating. Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Friday from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Tillie Osterdyk, the daughter of Jan and Dirktje Osterdyk, was born on August 3, 1918 in Steggerda, Holland. Her family immigrated to America in 1922 and settled in South Dakota. Tillie married Bert Newport on November 12, 1936 and they had five children. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1959. Tillie later married Harold Dally on October 21, 1960. He preceded her in death on February 19, 1964. Later that year Tillie moved to Faribault where she worked at St. Lucas Care Center and then the Turkey Plant until her retirement in 1983. She was devoted to her church and caring for others. She is survived by four children, Sam (Laurlee) Newport of Green Valley, AZ, Jim (Donna) Newport of Faribault, Sandra (Carl) Rosebrock of Chattanooga, TN, and Tom Newport of Nerstrand; step daughter-in-law, Bev Dally of Ann Arbor, Mich.; step son-in-law, Richard Hoff Sr. of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Samuel Newport Jr., Gary (Renae) Newport, Greg Newport, Cindy Sherman, Janelle (Bill) Longest, Kelly (Kristi) Newport, Arlo (Nellie) Newport, Peggy (Joey) White, Paula (Nuel) McDaniel, Robert (Jill) Newport, Jeanna Newport, and Sheri Newport; step grandchildren, Richard Hoff Jr., Terri Greenwood, Laurie Hoff, Linda Woodard, Don Dally, Jane Ferguson, Julie Ripberger, and Jan Dally; many great grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; sister, Winnie (Reuben) Graber of Hibbing, MN; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bert Newport and Harold Dally; parents; son, David Newport; step-son, Donald Dally; step-daughter, Maureen Hoff; great grandson, Isaac Longest; five brothers; and four sisters.
