Tennis E. Ellerbusch, age 83, of Faribault, MN, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014, at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault, with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Tennis Eldon was born on June 20, 1931, in Faribault to Bernard and Alice (Oppegard) Ellerbusch. He graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1948. During high school he was active in the Golden Gloves boxing program. He farmed in Walcott Township, Rice County for several years before enlisting in the U.S. Naval Air Corps from 1956-1958. Tenny married Elizabeth McGuire on April 11, 1959 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, MN. He had a tremendous work ethic. In addition to farming he also worked at Faribault Foods for 22 years. Tenny enjoyed fishing, hunting, and attending his children's and grandchildren''s sporting activities. He and Betty regularly enjoyed playing bingo, traveling to casinos, and dancing. She preceded him in death on July 8, 2013. Tenny was a member of the American Legion Post 43, Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Faribault Council 889 Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by four children, Deborah Peacock of Patzucaro, Mexico, Greg (Beth) Ellerbusch of Faribault, Brian Ellerbusch of Faribault, and Todd (Sara) Ellerbusch of Rochester; six grandchildren, Jena (Jeremy) Bothun, Sara (Josh) Sjodin, Spencer and Paige Ellerbusch, and Lucas and Blake Ellerbusch; sister, Arlene Dusbabek of Faribault; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; parents, Bernard and Alice; brother, Gordon

(Charlene) Ellerbusch; and brother-in-law, Ronald Dusbabek.
