Shirley Tiede

Shirley Tiede, age 88, of Waseca, died peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2019, at her home.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM on Thursday, November 14, at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alma City with Rev. Keith Bilitz officiating. Interment will follow in the Alma City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, November 13, at Starkson & Steffel Funeral & Cremation Service ~ McRaith Chapel of Waseca. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Shirley Ann Tiede was born on October 30, 1931 in Blue Earth County, Minnesota to Carl and Rose (Manthe) Doss. She was baptized on November 15, 1931 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Alma City and confirmed in her faith on March 25, 1945 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Janesville High School with the class of 1949. On November 4, 1951, Shirley was united in marriage to Robert Tiede at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Following the wedding they moved on the Family Farm outside of Pemberton. Shirley worked at Vinson Hardware for many years and later worked along side her husband on the farm. Shirley had a passion and love for shopping. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Alma City where she was active in Ladies Aid.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Robert of Waseca; son: Larry (Sue) of Waseca; daughter: Jill (Tim) Thiesse of Waseca; two grandchildren: Michelle (Paul) McMurphy and Justin Tiede; four great grandchildren: Karin, Katlyn, Kinley, and Kilian McMurphy; sister-in-law: Arlene Rollins of Waldorf; other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by her parents and brother.
