Ruth E. Youngerberg, age 83 of Brainerd, formerly of Janesville died on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at St. Joseph''s Medical Center in Brainerd. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Smiths Mill with Rev. Keith Bilitz officiating. Interment will be in the Smiths Mill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville, and will continue on Saturday morning for one hour prior to services, at church. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Ruth Ethel was born on June 3, 1926 in McPherson Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota to Arthur and Esther (Stiernagle) Flemming. She was a graduate of St. Clair High School. On August 10, 1948 she was united in marriage to Clarence F. Youngerberg at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Freedom Township, Waseca County. Ruth and Clarence resided on their LeRay Township farm in Blue Earth County from 1948 to 1995, when they retired to the Brainerd Area. She was a longtime member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Smiths Mill where she was active as a Sunday school teacher, organist, and Dorcas Society member. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #281 in Janesville. Currently, Ruth and Clarence were members of Christ Ev. Lutheran Church in Baxter. She is survived by her husband Clarence Youngerberg of Brainerd; by her brother Lyle Flemming of rural Janesville; by her sister-in-law Adeline Flemming of Janesville, and three brothers-in-law Harold (Helen) Youngerberg of Janesville, Rueben Youngerberg of Janesville, and Herb (Eleanor) Youngerberg, of Waterville; by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her three brothers, Alvin, Lester (Lorene), and Albert Flemming; by her sister- in-law Verna Youngerberg.
