Rueben J. Springer, age 63, of Faribault, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at his home in Faribault. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault, 139 Mercy Drive. Interment will be held at the Trebon Cemetery in Shieldsville Township, Rice County, MN. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to services. Rueben Joseph Springer, the son of Rudy and Delores (Soukup) Springer, was born on October 12, 1947 in New Prague, MN. On May 27, 1978 he was united in marriage to Nelda Cady. They later divorced in 1986. Rueben worked for over 28 years as a forklift driver at Ryt Way in Lakeville, retiring in 2009. He always enjoyed going to work and liked everyone he worked with. Rueben was a good mechanic and liked working on cars. He was a very caring son and brother and would do anything for you. He loved his children, granddaughter and nieces and nephews very much. He loved to fish and going to garage sales. He is survived by three children, Justin (Jamie) Springer of Morristown, Joe Springer of Faribault and Lisa Springer of Faribault; by his granddaughter, Breanna Springer; by his mother, Delores Springer of Faribault; by eleven siblings, Ronnie (Mary) Springer of Ramsey, MN, Darlene (Mike) Schinke of Rochester, MN, Richard (Loretta) Springer of Faribault, Diane (Jim) Savoie of Bloomington, MN, Randy Springer and Sara Jensen of Faribault, Donna (Allan) Wendt of Burns, OR, Bob (Connie) Springer of Faribault, Debbie (Paul) Merrill of Prior Lake, MN, Ray (Rhonda) Springer of Faribault, Dorothy (Dale) Wille of Kenyon, MN and Roger Springer of Faribault and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, his nephew, Jesse Springer, two great nephews, Tyler Springer and Lukas Springer-Akbar and by his uncle, Jim Springer.
