Robert Fredenburg April 9, 1933 - September 15, 2009

Robert D. Fredenburg, age 76 of Faribault, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault. Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on Monday at 12:45 p.m. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Robert Dewayne Fredenburg, the son of William and Grace (Bloom) Fredenburg, was born on April 9, 1933 in Northfield, MN. Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On July 19, 1958 he was united in marriage to Joeldene Russell in Faribault. After their marriage Robert worked as a truck driver for Finger Hut and later worked as a custodian for Mercury Minnesota. Most recently he had worked as a security guard for the Faribault Energy Park and at the Heath Creek rest area north of Faribault. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joeldene Fredenburg of Faribault; by two children, Debra (Mark) Ziemer of Bethel, MN and Roger Fredenburg of Faribault; by three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; by two sisters, Mary Fytenn of Ortonville, CA and Hazel Luxem of Olivia, MN and by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jackie Fredenburg, two brothers, William and Jack Fredenburg and by three sisters, Ruth Linaman, Dorothy Arne and June Karrow.
