Rita Schneider August 14, 1920 - February 4, 2010

Rita M. Schneider, age 89, of Faribault, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church in Medford, with Fr. Clayton Haberman, officiating. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault. Rita Melanie Corbesia, the daughter of Emil and Grace (Simon) Corbesia, was born on August 14, 1920 in Faribault. She was raised in Iowa and at a young age her family moved to Faribault. Rita married George Schneider on April 24, 1945 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. She and George farmed for many years in Walcott Township, Rice County. He preceded her in death on August 24, 2006. Rita enjoyed crafting, especially doll making and oil painting and also belonged to a homemaker group. She and George enjoyed dancing and traveling together. Rita treasured her time with her friends, granddaughters, and great granddaughters. She was a member of the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (John) Van Den Boom of Sauk Rapids, MN; two granddaughters, Jill Echols of Arlington, TX and Heidi (Darion) Ulrich of Howard Lake, MN; three great granddaughters, Rylie and Cejay Ulrich, and Skylar Echols; sister, Mable Walkowiak of Burnsville; sister-in-law, Regina Corbesia of Minneapolis; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two brothers, Raymond and Floyd Corbesia.
