Richard Lee Krause

RICHARD LEE KRAUSE, age 62, of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, died on April 5, 2021, from complications of COVID-19, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Born on November 1, 1958, in Mankato to Robert William and Kathleen Ann (Mans) Krause. He attended Waldorf-Pemberton High School graduating with the class of 1976. Following his education, Richard began a 27 ½ year career with the United State Army. He honorably served his country as a member of the 82nd Airborne where he earned his Master Parachutist. Richard served in Grenada and Desert Storm, during which time he earned a Bronze Star. Richard retired with the United States Army as a Chief Warrant Officer – 4. Following his honorable discharge he began a remodeling business in Huntingdon.

On July 17, 1979, Richard was united in marriage to Grace Maria Biemesderfer in Dillon, South Carolina. After living in various cities throughout the country and abroad as a career military family, they made their home in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Richard was highly active in his local community, he was a member of the VFW Post #1754, where he served as commander three times and held various other chairs. He was also a member of the Elk’s Lodge #976, as a trustee, American Legion Post #024, Moose #223, and Military Share. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, karaoke, and especially spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Richard is survived by his wife of 41 years, Grace; son’s: Jason (Kaitlin) of Elizabethtown, PA and Chris of Huntingdon, PA; two grandchildren: Evelyn and Benjamin; brother’s: Steve of Janesville, MN, Michael (Debbie) Sr. of Des Moines, IA, Tom (Cheryl) of Janesville, MN, John (Cathy) of Mankato, MN, and Jim of Janesville, MN; sister’s: Patricia (Rick Evans) Wayne of Salisbury, NC, Susan (Dennis) Wayne of Kellogg, MN, Linda (Russell) Cabasal of Waseca, MN, and Diane (Jerome) Stenzel of New Richland, MN; many nieces nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by his parents.

A public visitation will be from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the Janesville Chapel of Dennis Funeral & Cremation Service. A private family service will be held on Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waldorf. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
