Richard J. Freeman March 19, 1952 - August 25, 2015

Richard J. Freeman, age 63, of Faribault, MN, passed away August 25, 2015, at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis following a brief illness.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Patrick in Shieldsville. Interment will be at the St. Patrick Cemetery in Shieldsville with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault on Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and on Monday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Richard Joseph was born on March 19, 1952, in Faribault to Daniel Sr. and Loretta Mae (Lambert) Freeman. He attended Faribault High School and served in the U.S. Navy for two years. Richard was married to Debra Chapman, they had three children and were later divorced. He worked at McQuay''s in Faribault for four years and was a real estate agent for 30 years owning Best Buy Real Estate. He also had worked briefly at the Wilson Center in Faribault. Richard enjoyed the outdoors, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles and also deer hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Faribault Elks Club, American Legion Post 43, and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his children, Amanda (Tom) Snitker of Montgomery, Caleb Richard (Stacy) Freeman of Morristown, and Jacob James Freeman of Warsaw, MN; grandchildren, Kayli, Cole, Brody, Daniel, Dominic, Sophie, and Delton; his mother, Mae Freeman of Faribault; brothers, Kenneth Freeman of Faribault, and Daniel (Butch) Freeman Jr. of Backus, MN; former wife, Debra Freeman of Warsaw; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Sr.; and sister, Jean Bjorkman.
