Richard Gillis April 30, 1965 - February 11, 2010

Richard "Ricky" Gillis, age 44, of Faribault, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the District One Hospital in Faribault following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, pastoral minister of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Richard Lee Gillis, the son of Teresa Dorweiler was born on April 30, 1965 in Faribault. As a youth he was a resident at the Faribault Regional Center until 1983 when Ricky moved to live at the Inisfail community. In 2003, he moved to a smaller residence of Inisfail at Wellington. He has been involved at the Rice County Day Activity Center for many years. In his own way, Ricky developed a relationship with his care providers and other residents at Wellington. He is survived by his many care providers and friends within the Inisfail and Faribault community.
