Raymond O. Knudson, age 79 of Waseca, died Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Lake Shore Inn of Waseca.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, November 21st at 2:00 P.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Fr. Martin Schaefer, Celebrant. Interment with military honors will be in Waseca''s Woodville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 to 7 P.M. at McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Waseca, and will continue Wednesday afternoon for one hour prior to services, at church.

Raymond Olaf was born March 21, 1933 in McGirr, Illinois to Olaf and Esther (Larson) Knudson. Ray attended Genoa High School in Genoa, IL, and graduated with the class of 1950. Ray entered military service in the United States Army, and served his country for four years during the Korean War. He was united in marriage on June 22, 1957 to Therese June Kush at St. Catherine''s Catholic Church in Genoa, Illinois. For much of their married life Ray and Terry resided in Genoa, and for over 30 years Ray was employed with Babson Brothers-Surge Dairy Co. He also worked as a sports writer for G.K.K. News in Genoa. In 1980 the family moved to Osceola, Iowa, and in 1985 to Waseca. For the last years of his career Ray was employed with King Company in Owatonna, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, Waseca American Legion Post #228, and the Waseca V.F.W. Sweet-Sommers Post #1642. Ray had a passion for fishing, hunting and the outdoors, and enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and other sporting events. He felt fortunate he was able to enjoy those interests with his wife Terry.

He is survived by his children, Mary Jo Knudson of Waseca, and Mike (Roxann) Knudson of Eagle Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Therese on October 15, 2012; brother, Leonard Knudson; sisters, Ethel (Frank) Zweifel, and Helen Grimm.
