Raymond F. Duchene, age 75 of Faribault, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 at St. Mary''s Hospital in Rochester, MN following a sudden illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Patrick in Faribault, MN, 7525 Dodd Road. Interment will be held at St. Patrick''s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Church of St. Patrick on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and will continue on Thursday for one hour prior to services.

Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.

Raymond Francis, the son of George and Agnes (Sullivan) Duchene, was born on April 15, 1939 in Faribault. He attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1957. On August 10, 1957 he was united in marriage to Margelaine Krenske. After their marriage Ray served in the U.S. Army Reserve for a short time and also began his lifelong career in farming on his families homestead in Wells Township and was still farming until this day. Ray also worked as a mechanic for different marina''s over the years including, R&S, Ahlman''s, Driessen''s and LaCanne''s. Ray was currently a Trustee at the Church of St. Patrick in Shieldsville and was involved in many of the activities that happened at church. For the past 19 years Ray served as a Director for the Steele-Waseca CO-OP Electric. He also served for 10 years on the U.S. Snowmobile Association. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who loved spending time with his family. He was also known for his great sense of humor. Ray was a member of the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margelaine "Marge" Duchene of Faribault; by his son Pat (Mary) Duchene of Faribault; by two grandchildren, PJ (Randi) Duchene of Faribault and Marisarah (Cody) Larvick of North Mankato; by two great grandchildren,

Patrick and Sumer Duchene; by his sister Marie (Don) Bauer of Faribault and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
