Ray David John Storjohann was born on July 25, 1940, in Janesville to Frederick and Ida (Berndt) Storjohann. He attended Trinity Lutheran School through 8th grade and was a 1958 graduate of Janesville High School. In 1963 he enlisted into the Army Reserves where he was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood. On July 10, 1964, he was united in marriage to Sharlot Trodahl at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato. Together they made their home in Janesville and were blessed with two children.
While attending and after high school, Ray worked alongside his father on the family farm milking cows. He later worked for the Janesville Power Plant and for the City of Janesville as a dispatcher. Rays time as the Janesville dispatcher led him to a 17 year career with Waseca County as a dispatcher, retiring in 2002.
Ray was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. He also was a active member of the Janesville Jaycees and Fire Department. Ray enjoyed attending Minnesota Viking games, bowling and playing softball in his younger years. He loved going on day trips with Sharlot. Ray was a people person, able to visit with anyone who had time. He cherished the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. Ray will be remembered for his sense of humor and as a loving and caring husband. Blessed be his memory.
Ray is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sharlot; children: Rebecca (Robb) Lee of Mankato and Andrew (Beth Hayes) Storjohann of Janesville; grandchildren: Carson Lee, Cassidy Storjohann, McLean Lee, Tyler Storjohann, Scott Storjohann, and Nicolas Storjohann; sisters-in-law: Eleanor Storjohann of Janesville and Kay (Neal) Lund of Mankato; other relatives and friends.
