Orville A Grothe November 28, 1933 - December 18, 2014

Orville A. Grothe, age 81, of Mankato, died on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Keystone Communities in Mankato following an extended illness.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville with Pastor Paul Muther officiating. Interment will be held at Janesville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Monday, December 22 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Arrangements are being completed by Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer''s Foundation.

Orville Arden, son of Leland and Irene (Berge) Grothe, was born on November 28, 1933 in Delavan, Minnesota. He graduated from Janesville High School in 1951. Orville started farming out of high school and did that for many years. Later, he worked for Jones Metal before retiring after 11 years. Following his retirement, he drove truck for various places. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed being a farmer and driving a semi. Orville was a very charismatic and friendly man.

He is survived by his special friend, Shirley Holcomb of Mankato; his brothers, Lyle (Lucille) Grothe and Roger Grothe, both of Madison Lake; his aunt, Alpha Stanke of Janesville; by many nieces and nephews; and by many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his sister, Twila Kamholtz.
