Olga Hunt September 9, 1911 - June 14, 2012

Olga C. Hunt, age 100, of Faribault, died on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church in Faribault, with Rev. David Hurtt and Rev. Ronald Hunt, officiating. Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault. Olga Caroline Okkelberg, the daughter of Ludvig and Beda (Wicklund) Okkelberg, was born September 9, 1911 and raised in Wanamingo, MN. Olga married John B. Hunt on April 7, 1931 at the Immaculate Conception Parish House. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1995. She worked at St. Mary''s School, Wilson''s, Swift Company, and Broberg''s, all of Faribault. Olga was an avid reader of the Bible and devoted member of First English Lutheran Church, active in sewing circle and the Hannah Dorcas Circle. She enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, and caring for her vegetable and fruit garden, often canning many items from the garden. Olga was a member of the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary. She is survived by her children, Ronald (Lois) Hunt and Donna (John) Vogelsberg, both of Faribault; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents; sons, Donovan (Mavis) and LaVerne Hunt; grandson, Ricky Hunt; sister, Lillian Kolstad; and brother, Bert Okkelberg. Memorials may be directed to First English Lutheran Church or the Faribault Area Hospice.
