Mona R. Kruse age 70, of St. Clair, died on Friday, January 1, 2010 at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Mankato, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4th at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville with Rev. Kevin Melin, officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 p.m. until the hour of service at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 5th at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, Iowa with Rev. Ray Kruger officiating. The Kruse Family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service, at church. Interment will be in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred. Mona Rae was born on December 28, 1939 in Melvin Iowa, to Victor and Helen (Steenhoven) Nicola. In 1958 Mona graduated from Melvin High School in Melvin, Iowa. She continued her education at Omaha Business College, graduating in 1960. On March 18, 1963 she was united in marriage to Harold James Kruse at the Presbyterian Church in Sanborn, Iowa. Mona was employed as a Certified Record Technician for over 30 years. From 1961 to 1984 she was employed with the Community Memorial Hospital in Sheldon, Iowa, and from 1984 to 1994 at the Family Medicine Clinic in Sibley, Iowa. Mona retired in 1994, and moved to St. Clair to be near her family. She was a member of the Crossview Covenant Church in North Mankato. Mona enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, and time spent with her friends and family. The greatest joys of her life were her six grandchildren. The family would like to thank everyone who prayed and cared for her through this journey. She is survived by her daughters Janice (Roy) Worrell of Eagle Lake, Bernice Kruse and Raul Ramos of Algodones, Mexico, and Linda (Brian) Lynch of St. Clair; by grandchildren Nicole, Jesse, Marcus, Arena, Danielle, and Dorado; by her brothers Kenneth (Shirley) Nicola of Muncie, IN, Glen (Cheryl) Nicola of Aurora, CO, and Rex (Arlene) Nicola of Ft. Dodge, IA; by many nieces and nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband; by her parents.
