MICHAEL GEORGE SIKEL, age 69, of Waterville, died on January 13, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Mike was born in Waterville on August 31, 1950, to George and Lorraine (Roemhildt) Sikel. He was confirmed in his youth at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville. Mike attended Waterville High School, graduating with the class of 1968. In 1970, Mike enlisted into the United State Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1972. He was united in marriage to Connie Madson on December 19, 1992 at Harvest Church in Faribault and together they made their home in Waterville. Mike drove readymix truck for Cemstone his entire working career, retiring in 2016. Mike enjoyed fishing, trapping, frogging and smoking carp. He was a true outdoorsman. He was known by many as "trapper" and others in town knew who to call for the best smoked carp around. Mike looked forward to having coffee every morning with his friends. His family fondly remembers him for his sense of humor and as a generous man who would help anyone in need. He will be dearly missed.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Connie; children: Julie (Shannon) Sellers of Waterville, James (Ashley) Sikel of Elysian, Autumn Sikel of Faribault and Mike (Brandi) Sikel of Waterville; four grandchildren: Kaylie, Clint, Evelyn and Warren; two greatgrandchildren: Pamela and Abraham. He is also survived by his siblings: Jeannie (Dave) Priebe of Truman, Terrie (Jim) Goettl of Waseca, John (Peggy) Sikel of Waldorf and Rick (Joyce) Sikel of Waseca; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents; nieces: Kristin Priebe and Lori Goettl.

Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services ~ Waterville Chapel and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.

Funeral Service will be 10:30AM on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services ~ Waterville Chapel with Rev. David Mumme officiating. Interment will be held on a later date.
