Maynard Charles Majeres, 71, of Waterville passed away at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 5th, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, August 8th, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Church in St. Clair, with Father Sylvester Brown, Celebrant. Interment will be at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Immaculate Conception Church from 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, followed by a prayer service, and one hour before services on Saturday. Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home of Janesville is handling arrangements. Maynard was born in Wilmont, Minnesota, December 12, 1937 to Clarence and Malaine (Vaske) Majeres. He attended and graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School. Maynard joined the U.S. Navy in 1955 and served in the Submarine Force on the USS Stickleback and the USS Aspro based out of San Diego, until 1959. He married Patricia Larson of Wilmont on June 13, 1964. They moved to Minneapolis, where Maynard worked as an electrical designer for Honeywell for 9 years. He and his wife and daughters moved to St. Clair in 1970, where he then was employed with Kato Engineering as a Mechanical Design Engineer until 1999, when he retired. Maynard was active in his community as a volunteer fireman with the St. Clair Fire Department for 23 years. He was also an active member of the St. Clair and Waterville Catholic Churches. Maynard loved wildlife, especially all the wild birds native to this area which he fed and watched for hours. He was an avid woodworker and built many beautiful pieces of furniture, as well as designed their home and built a boathouse at his family's lakehome. Maynard was also a faithful fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. He will best be remembered as a great jack of all trades, and was always eager and happy to help others. Maynard's greatest joy was his family and he was happiest when they were all together. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. He is survived by his wife Patricia of Waterville; by his daughters Kimberly (Jeff) Wetzel of Poway, CA and their children Derek, Madison, Alexys, and Whitney; Kristine (Jerome) Lang of St. Clair and their children Neal, Claire, and Paul; Keri (Ryan) Evenson of Madison Lake and their daughter Elise; and Kasey Majeres of Mankato; by his brothers Daryl (Agrita) Majeres, and Ray (Ceal) Majeres; by his sisters Janet (LeRoy) Fuerstenburg, Norma (Jim) Lais, and Marge (Dave) Henning; by his mother-in-law Clara
