Mathilda Eileen "Leenie" Thanghe, age 83, of Faribault, died Saturday, October 31, 2009 at St. Mary''s Care Center in Winsted, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday for one hour prior to services. Mathilda Eileen Curwick, the daughter of Leo and Mary (Baert) Curwick, was born on February 4, 1926 in Marshall, MN. On April 27, 1944 she was united in marriage to Edward F. Thanghe in Ghent, MN. Mr. Thanghe preceded her in death on December 1, 1986. Eileen attended the Faribault Vo-Tech School and earned her degree as an LPN. She worked for 10 years as a Nurse at the District One Hospital in Faribault. Eileen loved her church and was an active member for many years. She was a past Regent of the Daughters of Isabella and was a rosary leader at many visitations. Eileen loved to garden, to be outdoors and loved her dogs Teenie and Molly. She also loved spending time with all of her children and grandchildren. She is survived by eight children, Linda Lang of Faribault, Paulette (Sid) Keller of Hutchinson, MN, Pamela White of Hutchinson, MN, Mark (Deb) Thanghe of Minneapolis, Patricia (David) Anderson of Albert Lea, MN, Nancy (Steve) Nelson of Iron Mountain, MI, Susan Waack of Edina, MN and Thomas (Susan) Thanghe of Minneapolis; by 24 grandchildren, Adrian Thanghe, Malinda Sarge, Michael Thanghe, Andrew Lang, Jessica Lang, Daniel Lang, Jennifer Markwardt, Anthony Keller, Jonathan Keller, Benjamin Keller, Christopher Thanghe, Anthony Thanghe, Nicholas Thanghe, Amy Jermstad, Rebecca Olson, Gregory Nelson, Laura Nelson, Janet Waack, Robert Waack, Chad Harwood, Jayme Metty, Thomas Thanghe, Alan Thanghe Martinez; 18 great grandchildren; by eight siblings, Alverna DeRoode of St. Paul, MN, Bernard (Patricia) Curwick of Waunekee, WI, Marie Sullivan of Marshall, MN, Edward (Joyce) Curwick of Bishop, CA, Kathleen Drown of Minneota, MN, LeRoy (Kay) Curwick of Coon Rapids, MN, Virginia (Don) Steinfadt of Ackley, IA and Valerie (Tom) Jakob of Woodbury, MN; by her daughter in law, Marnelle Thanghe of Faribault and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
