MARY JO NIKOLEY, age 82, died on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at her home in Elysian.
Born on May 27, 1936 in Wadena, Minnesota, Mary Jo was the daughter of Harry and Catherine (Weber) Pemble.  She graduated from St. Clair High School in the class of 1954.  She married William Fredrick Nikoley in Marysburg on May 16, 1959.  As a homemaker for many years, Mary Jo cared for her family and enjoyed attending antique shows and craft markets, sewing, crocheting, making scrubbies, and spending time with family and friends.  Earlier in her life she worked for Good Sports where she sewed hockey uniforms for the Minnesota North Stars.  She was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church where she enjoyed helping with sewing projects and caring for the churchs flowers.
Mary Jo is survived by her husband Bill of Elysian; five children, Marlene (Garett) Schmahl of Elysian, Dean (Lori) Nikoley of Madison Lake, Fredrick Nikoley of Elysian, Curtis (Kim) Nikoley of Waseca, and Douglas (Khanittha) Nikoley of Cleveland; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.  She will also be remembered by five siblings, Harold (Virginia "Ginger") Pemble of Green Bay, WI, Vicky Johnson of St. Peter, Mark Pemble of Silver Bay, Jim (Sandy) Pemble of Waterville, and Karen (Tom) Gohla of Elysian; sisters-in law, Ardella Pemble of St. Clair and Marge (Al) Wenker of Albany; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Dave, Phil, and Larry Pemble; two sisters, Harriet Hager and Charolette Blaschko, and one Godchild, Jackie Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, May 6, 2019 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Elysian with Fr. Michael Ince officiating.  Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian.
