Born at her familys home on March 21, 1921, Marvel was the daughter of Fred and Malinda (Seewald) Mittelstaedt.  She was baptized at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Iosco Township by Rev. August Mueller, and later renewed her baptismal vows when she was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca by Rev. Herman Soldner.  She attended Waseca County school district #64 in St. Mary Township before attending Waseca Central High School.  Marvel and Harold Miller were married on December 22, 1936 at St. John Lutheran Church in Iosco Township.  They were later blessed with two daughters, Janice and Joyce.  Marvel and Harold lived and farmed together in Waseca County until retiring in 1983.  She was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca where she was active in the Cotta Guild, the knitters, quilters, 29ers, and the LWML.  She was a great cook who liked to play cards, dance, swim, take care of her flowers and garden, and raise and sell poultry.  She also enjoyed making crafts and painting ceramics, but more than anything she loved to help take care of her grandchildren.  Marvel was a dedicated homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.  At the center of her life was her devotion to her family.
Marvel is survived by three grandchildren, Debra (Douglas) Mosser of Madison, WI, Mark (Julie) Praxl of Waseca, and Craig (Jodi) Praxl of Bowling Green, KY; six great-grandchildren, Nathan & Tyler Mosser, Andrew (Kelli), Mitchell, and Jacob Praxl, and Amber (Daniel) Rosbottom; two great-great-grandchildren, Mason Rosbottom and Tanner Meyer; one sister, Dorothy Kopischke of Waseca; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Janice Priebe and Joyce Miller; one sister, Deloris Guse; one sister in infancy, Norma Mittelstaedt; and one brother, Eldor Mittelstaedt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, January 21, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, with Rev. Giles Zimmer officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church.  Interment will follow at St. Johns Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Iosco Township.
