MARLIN VICTOR JOHN BOYD, age 82 of Waterville, died on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.
Born in Waterville on January 29, 1937, Marlin was the son of Gale and Gertrude (Gatzke) Boyd.  He attended country school for eight years and later graduated from Waterville High School.  From 1956 until 1961 Marlin served with the United States Air Force in Texas and Alaska.  Upon his honorable discharge, he was united in marriage to Sharon Louise Lau on February 11, 1961 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville.  Marlin worked at Birdseye Foods in Waseca, the Mankato Stone Company, McQuay Air Conditioning, and he also ran his own refrigeration business on the side.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, polka music, and dancing.  He was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church German Lake.
Marlin is survived by his wife, Sharon of Waterville; son William Boyd of Waterville; son-in-law, Dean Roemhildt of Waterville; grandchildren, Rachel (Jake) Morsching, Nicole Roemhildt, Samantha Boyd (Jack Dougan), and Megan Boyd; his step-grandchildren, Casandra (Wade) Hrdlicka, Jessica (Troy) Tolzman, and Jenna (Brad) Kirksey; one special great-granddaughter, Hadley Rose; nine other great-grandchildren; two siblings, Janice (Roland) Deno and Bob (Bev) Boyd; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law; one son, Ronald Boyd; and one daughter, Lisa "Bubbles" Roemhildt.
Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church German Lake, with Rev. Richard Jorgenson officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
