Marjorie Lucille Schauer, age 90 of Waseca, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Lake Shore Inn of Waseca, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 24th at 2:00 P.M. at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Roger Haug and Rev. Paige Whitney, officiating. Interment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Freedom Township, Waseca County. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Waseca, and will continue on Tuesday afternoon from 1:30 to 2:00 P.M. at Grace Lutheran Church. Marjorie Lucille was born on April 4, 1922 in Goldfield, Iowa to Herbert and Ivalie (Wilhelm) Lewis. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Clarion, Iowa. Marjorie was united in marriage to Raymond Benson in 1936 in Goldfield, Iowa, and they resided in Algona, Iowa. Her husband Ray passed away in 1956. Marjorie continued to reside in Algona and on December 21, 1957 she was united in marriage to Herbert E. Schauer in Fairmont, Minnesota. Marjorie and Herb lived in Algona, then Ottertail, Minnesota for a short time before moving to Freedom Township, Waseca County. From 1975 to 1978 they lived in Lyle, Minnesota before moving to Waseca. Over the years Marjorie was a homemaker, and also worked for Herters Inc and Brown Printing Company in Waseca. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca where she was active in "Grace Golden Years". Marjorie enjoyed bingo, crocheting, dancing, and time spent with her family. She is survived by her son Don Schauer of Waseca; by her daughters, Shirley (Vince) Adams of London, MN, Jan (Ray) Keenan of Mankato, MN, Joyce (Loren) Frink, Carol Benson, Bonnie Tiede and special friend John Haney, all of Waseca; by her daughter-in-law, Linda Benson of Allen, TX; by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren; by her brothers Eugene (Phyllis) Lewis of Clarion, IA, Glenn Lewis of Olathe, KS, and her sister, Bonnie Sheets of Goldfield, IA; by her brother-in-law Marvin Fawcett of Goldfield, IA; by her extended family and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands; by her son Norm Benson, and daughter-in-law Deb Schauer; by her two sisters Naomi (Lewis) Fawcett and Iris Bischer, and her brother, Virgil Lewis; by her brother-in-law, Merle Sheets.
