Margaret Puffer August 24, 1917 - January 18, 2010

Margaret Ring Puffer, age 92, of Faribault, died on Monday, January 18, 2010 at her home. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral Of Our Merciful Saviour in Faribault, with the Very Reverend James Zotalis, Dean of the Cathedral, officiating. Interment will be at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Faribault at a later date. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Margaret Ring, the daughter of John and Edith (Hoover) Ring, was born on August 24, 1917 in Steele County. She graduated from Faribault High School. Margaret married Chester Puffer on July 21, 1940 in Harmony, MN. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years and worked at Marigold Dairy, Larson Electric, and Faribo Woolen Mills before working many years at Shattuck/St. Mary''s Schools. She and Chester owned and operated Puffer Apartments in Faribault and enjoyed time at their cabin on Horseshoe Lake together. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1997. Margaret polished apples at Madden''s Orchard, made maple syrup, and enjoyed time with her grandchildren. She is survived by four daughters, Ann Madden (Richard) of Waterville, Ilene Leister (John Baumtrog) of Excelsior, Marie Cramer (Glenn) of Nerstrand, and Jane Berghoff (Donald Jr.) of Faribault; grandchildren, Joseph (Lisa), Sarah, and Abbie Madden, Matthew Leister, Cory, Jonathon, and Ellen Cramer, and Thomas and Toni Berghoff; great grandchildren, Kylah Morrow and Alexia Cates; siblings, John Ring (Loretta) of St. Paul, James Ring (Marn) of Albert Lea, Hazel Voss of St. Charles, MN, and Jean Puffer of Spencer, IA; sisters-in-law, Marge Ring of Faribault, and Verna Ring of Texas; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; infant son, Charles; grandson, Chad Cramer; parents; sisters, Marian Gangloff, Florence Lawson, Helen Sellner, and Dorothy Voge; and brothers, Avison (Buck) Ring, and Orville (Bud) Ring.
