Margaret Julia Wintheiser, the daughter of David Matthew and Rose Marie (Regenscheid) Wintheiser, was born on July 6, 1915, in Minneapolis, MN. The family later moved to LeCenter, MN, where Margaret grew up with her six siblings. The family lived through the depression with ingenuity and hard work. Many a meal was made from the fish caught in the local lakes. Margaret attended St. Mary's Catholic School in LeCenter in her elementary years and graduated from McKinley High School. After high school, Margaret graduated from the Parisian School of Beauty Culture in Minneapolis, but then found her calling in teaching. She earned her teaching certificate and taught in a country school in LeSueur Township. On November 18, 1940, Margaret was united in marriage to Bertram Lawrence Paukert of West Concord, MN, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in LeCenter. They made their home in Claremont, where together they raised 14 children on the family farm, until Bert's passing on July 25, 1980. In 1994 Margaret moved to Faribault. Margaret was active in the Claremont Study Club, St. Francis de Sales Church, the Claremont Senior Citizens, and later in St. Lawrence and Divine Mercy Parishes in Faribault. Margaret was a dedicated wife and mother, mentoring her children through 4- H, their school years and their various activities. She liked to play bridge, crochet, garden, bake and sew. She also loved sports and rarely missed watching a Twins game. Margaret was a strong German and always showed great resilience and an incredible faith through life's joys and challenges.
