Lyle Arnold Bluhm

LYLE ARNOLD BLUHM, age 90, of Janesville died on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Whispering Creek in Janesville.

Born on July 26, 1930, in Kerkhoven, Minnesota to Arnold and Rosa (Boeck) Bluhm. Lyle received his education in Wells. On January 13, 1948, Lyle enlisted in the United States Navy, honorably serving his country during the Korean Conflict. On July 30, 1951, Lyle was united in marriage to Lois Louise Lueck at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alma City.

Lyle was a small engine mechanic throughout his life: first working at Carlson Garage in Wells, Hofman Implement in Pemberton, and for 21 years at Arnold Implement. Most notably, Lyle owned and operated Bluhm sales and service for over 31 years. In his free time, he loved bowling and going to dances with Lois. Above all else his family was his number one priority. Lyle was a member of the Janesville American Legion and Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville.

Lyle is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Lois; children: Linda (Wayne) Prechel of Janesville, Larry (Audrey) Bluhm of Lake Crystal and Leroy (Lorrie) Bluhm of Janesville; seven grandchildren; Jamie (Jon) Reineke, Sara Davies, Jessica (Adam) Arnoldy, Jacob (Grete) Bluhm, Joseph Bluhm, Josh (Kate) Bluhm, and Angela (Jesse Tesdahl) Bluhm; seven great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents; special cousins, Roger and Alvina Giese.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Memorial service will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Interment will follow in Alma City Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to charity of donor’s choice.
