Lucile M. Ewert

Lucile M. Ewert, 95 year old resident of Janesville died peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday afternoon, September 21, 2017 at the Janesville Nursing Home.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM on Monday, September 25, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville with Rev. Larry Griffin and Rev. Paul Muther, officiating. Interment will be in the Janesville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM at the church on Monday.

Lucile Marie Ewert was born on July 16, 1922, in Waseca to Samuel and Alma (Plath) Manthey. She was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith all at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Iosco Township. She attended country school and later graduated from Waseca High School in 1940. Lucile continued her education in Mankato. On August 29, 1945, Lucile was united in marriage to Wilbur Ewert in St. Johns Lutheran Church in Iosco Township and they shared 57 years of marriage.
Lucile was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville where she was active in Ladies Aid. She was a devoted farm wife throughout her life. Lucile enjoyed baking, bowling, playing cards, crocheting, and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
Lucile is survived by her two sons: Don (Sandy) and Dale (Linda) both of Janesville; her six grandchildren: Nicole (Kevin) Landorf, Kelly Leisen (Paul Anderson), Scott (Amber) Ewert, Jody (Aaron) Wilhelm, Julie (Eric) Anderson, and Jenna (Brennan) Price; great grandchildren: Brenan and Kiya Leisen and Kendra and Nathan Ewert; sister-in-law, Rosella Oestreich of Lakeville.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters: Margaret Mueller and Erma Schnoor.
