Louis William Marzinske

LOUIS WILLIAM MARZINSKE, age 86, of rural Janesville, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at his home.

Louis William was born on December 10th, 1933 to Robert and Marie (Klampe) Marzinske in Waseca. He was baptized on December 24, 1933 and confirmed in his faith on May 25, 1947, all at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alma City. Louis attended Country School through 5th grade and graduated from Waldorf Public School with the class of 1951. On November 29th, 1953, Louis was united in marriage to Norma Flitter at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lisbon, North Dakota. Louis and Norma spent their life farming together in the Janesville area. Together they shared 62 years of marriage before Norma passed away on August 1, 2016.

Louis was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Alma City. He was active as a Sunday school teacher and sometimes as Superintendent, he taught at St. John’s for over 45 years. Louis also served on the church council and was a delegate for St. John’s at the synod district conventions in New Ulm for many years and twice he attended the synod national conventions. In addition to his church, Louis was active on various boards in the local area, including, Alma City Creamery, Land-O-Lakes and Freedom Township. Blessed by his memory.

Louis is survived by his three children: Thomas Joel (Brenda) of Janesville, William (Donna) of Port Washington, WI, and Susan of Janesville; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Louis is also survived by his one sister, Marlys Roemhildt of Pemberton; two brothers: Robert (LeAnn) of Janesville, and David (Valley) of Waldorf; brothers-in-law: Vern Flitter of Janesville and David (Cindy) Flitter of North Dakota; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents; wife; adopted son, Lorance; adopted daughter; Florance; brother-in-law, Vernon Roemhildt; sister-in-law, Irma Flitter.

Visitation will be from 2-5 PM on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alma City. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM on Monday, July 6, 2020 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alma City. Interment will be in the Alma City Cemetery.
