Lloyd E. Roemhildt, Sr.
LLOYD E. ROEMHILDT SR., age 68 of Elysian, died on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato.
Born on March 16, 1948, in Faribault, Minnesota, he was the son of Elmer and Irene (Geyer) Roemhildt. Lloyd attended St. Peters Lutheran parochial school and Waterville-Elysian High School. On August 16, 1968, Lloyd married Barbara Hoffman in Benson. Lloyd worked most of his life as a brick tender. In addition, he also farmed and operated a vegetable stand from the end of his driveway. Lloyd enjoyed hunting coon and pheasants and also enjoyed fishing. He especially enjoyed the fishing trip he took with his sons to Lake Mille Lacs. Lloyd was a lifelong member of St. Peters "Bell" Lutheran Church and was also a member of the Silver Lakers.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Barb of Elysian; daughters, Lisa (Allan) Abrahamson of Big Lake, Laurie (Jason) Coon of Elysian, Lynette (Brian) Oeltjenbruns of Mountain Lake and sons, Lloyd Jr. (Carissa) Roemhildt, Lonnie (Tammy) Roemhildt, and Larry Roemhildt all of Elysian; fourteen grandchildren, Mark and Melissa Abrahamson, Dylan, Daniel, and Caitlin Oeltjenbruns, Tyler and Hayley Coon, Laura, Ryan, Miley, and Jake Roemhildt, Hannah, Landen, Lyam Roemhildt; siblings, Clarice Schaub of Waseca, Verna (Ward) Hering of Waterville, Janell (Jim) Hoehn of Elysian, Bernita (Jon) Knutson of Sauk Rapids, and Scott (Kathryn) Roemhildt of Elysian; brother-in-law Lynn Krenik of Cleveland; and many nieces and nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, grandson-Michael Oeltjenbruns, sister-Kathy Krenik, brother-in-law-Raymond Schaub, nephews-Danell Hoehn, Gary Schaub, and niece-Jerry Bluhm.
Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 3-6 PM and continue on Monday, one hour before services at the church.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Peters "Bell" Lutheran Church in Le Sueur County with Rev. Russ Grabau officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peters "Bell" Lutheran Cemetery.
