LEORA ELIZABETH ANDERSON, age 90 of Waterville, died on Friday, December 9, 2016, at Lakeshore Inn in Waseca.
Born in Elysian on February 27, 1926, Leora was the daughter of Orville and Carrie (Simons) James. She attended school in Elysian. She married Howard Anderson on July 13, 1942 in Waynesville, MO. Over the years, Leora worked as a waitress at Larsons Café in Waterville, and then worked at the E.F. Johnson Company, for Northrup King, and also did cleaning for Parkside South and West Court Apartments and at the Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville. She enjoyed gardening, birds, and spending time with family. She was a member of the Waterville Evangelical United Methodist Church and Cannonville Church.
Leora is survived by two sons, Stuart Anderson and Russell (Linda) Anderson both of Kilkenny; one daughter, Karlane (Don) Jensen of Waterville; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; and one step-great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by one sister, Audrey Kopischke of Elysian; one sister-in-law, Wanda James of LaPlace, LA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Merle, Mahlon, Keith, and Don James; three brothers-in-law, Irvin Kopischke, and Leo and Jack Anderson; two sisters-in-law, Helen and Elaine James; and one step-sister-in-law, Emogine (Tom) Broughton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Waterville Evangelical United Methodist Church, with Pastor Cindy Kennedy and Pastor Rex Bull officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30AM until the time of the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will follow at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville. Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville is handling the arrangements.
