Lenore Pobanz January 11, 1924 - March 8, 2012

Lenore C. Pobanz, age 88, of Deer River and formerly of Faribault, died peacefully on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Deer River Hospital in Deer River, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault. Interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday for one hour prior to services. Lenore Catherine Langer, the daughter of John & Helen (Meyer) Langer, was born on January 11, 1924 in Faribault, Minnesota. She attended Faribault Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1942. On June 4, 1947, Lenore was united in marriage to Alvin "Bud" Pobanz at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Faribault. He later preceded her in death on November 10, 2004. She worked at the Faribault Woolen Mills, constantly checking blankets over for the smallest flaws. Lenore was a very kind woman; she never missed anyone''s birthday, anniversary or any special event in life. She loved reading and thoroughly enjoyed learning about and trying new things in life. As a devote member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, faith and prayer were very important to her. After going through medical issues, Lenore moved closer to her daughter Maureen in the winter of 2010. She was a member of the VFW Post 1562 Auxiliary, Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge 2098, all in Faribault. She is survived by her five children, Patricia Falk of Hastings, Mary (Jack) Bowlin of Pleasant Valley. IA, Scott (Clare) Pobanz of St. Paul, Michelle Nelson of Faribault and Maureen (Tim) McCusker of Deer River, MN; her ten grandchildren, Stacie (Mike) Schutt, Kristin (Jacob) Boden, Nicolle (Mark) Amberg, Shay, Kyle and Jayne Pobanz, Drew and Alexis Nelson, and Luke and Beau McCusker; her nine great grandchildren, Hayden, Hannah, Laurel, Nora, Annie, Jack, Kayden, Kyle and Kooper; her siblings, Richard (June) Langer of Edina, Rose (Don) Paquette and Barbara Mulcahy, both of Faribault and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Marian Lockner, Francis Langer and Loretta Williams, by her two grandchildren, Kari Falk and Molly McCusker and by her husband, Alvin.
