Lawrence "Ole" Morris, age 88 of Faribault, died peacefully on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Central Health Care Center in LeCenter, MN following an extended illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault, with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Lawrence George Morris, the son of Ralph and Pauline (Kitzman) Morris, was born on March 2, 1924 in Cannon City Township, Rice County, MN. He helped on his family''s farm in Cannon City then served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was married to Jeannette A. Hagel on November 27, 1948 at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Faribault. She preceded him in death on September 27, 2010. Ole worked at Nutting Truck & Caster Co. for 11 years, then for 33 years with the U.S. Postal Service in Faribault, MN until his retirement. He also assisted his son-in-law at the Faribault Garden Center. He enjoyed going for Sunday drives and eating out. The most important things to him were his family and the Catholic Church, where he was an usher and often participated in the Adoration Chapel. Lawrence was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1562 and the Faribault Council 889 Knights of Columbus. He is survived by children, Tamera (Stan) Boe of Faribault and their children, Jason (Gwen) Boe, Heidi Boe and Sarah Boe; Terry Morris of Faribault; and Tricia (Michael) Sinn of Inver Grove Heights and their children, Laura Sinn and Julie Sinn; great grandchildren, Madison, Parker and Jozey Boe, and Isaac Boe; sisters, Mildred Schlossin and Irene Osmundson; sister-in-law, Gert Morris; and by many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeannette; parents; brothers, Everett, Clifford, Ralph, and Donald Morris. A special thanks to the caregivers at Central Health Care of LeCenter, MN and the Mayo Clinic-Mankato Hospice Care Team. Memorials may be directed to Mayo Clinic-Mankato Hospice Care in memory of Lawrence.
