Laura D. Brewer, age 101 of St. Clair, died on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Mapleton Community Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 28th at 11:00 A.M. at St. John''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair with Rev. Matthew Grunewald, officiating. Interment will be in the Medo McPherson Cemetery in Blue Earth County.

Visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 9:30 A.M. until the hour of service, at church. Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Janesville is handling arrangements.

Laura Doretta was born to George W. and Rose H. (Beise) Ward on July 6, 1911 in Medo Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota. On February 13, 1934 she was united in marriage to Gerald Brewer at her parent''s farm home in Medo Township by Pastor Fritke of St. John''s Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Clair. They farmed in McPherson Township until retiring and moving to St. Clair. She was a help mate to her husband on the farm, and also worked for 16 years at the St. Clair School as manager for the lunch program. Laura was a lifetime member of the St. John''s Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed, married, and now buried. She was an honorary member of the Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Sidney) Nyhusmoen of Glenwood; 8 grandchildren, Sheryl (Merrill) Dahle of Waseca, Janet (Armin) Krause of Chaska, Barbara (Scott) Eisen of Lewisville, TX, Rebecca (Robert) Lane of Phoenix, AZ, John Brewer of Janesville, Deborah (Daniel) McMenomy of Phoenix, AZ, Kevin (Pam) Brewer of Princeton, and Timothy (Carol) Brewer of Mankato; 13 great grandchildren, Paul Eisen, Nathan Krause, Tyler Brewer, Kimberly Dahle, Tanner Eisen, Mitchell Krause, Alex Dahle, Dillon Eisen, Cara Brewer, Nicole Eisen, Emily Brewer, Riley McMenomy, Kayden Brewer; sisters-in-law, Eloise Ward of Good Thunder, and Beryle Ward of Bemidji; many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald on March 8, 1982; son and daughter- in-law, James and Violet Brewer; parents; 5 brothers, Harold, William, George, Herbert, and Wayne; her sister, Lucy Carter; sisters-in-law, Fern Ward, and Shirley Ward, and brother-in-law, Mark Carter.

Casketbearers are her grandchildren: Sheryl Dahle, Janet Krause, Barbara Eisen, Rebecca Lane, John Brewer, Deborah McMenomy, Kevin Brewer, and Timothy Brewer.
