Karen Flitter August 30, 1960 - September 3, 2010

Karen M. Flitter, age 50 of rural Eagle Lake, died on Friday, September 3, 2010 at Immanuel-St. Joseph''s-Mayo Health System in Mankato. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 8th at 2:00 p.m. at St. John''s Ev. Lutheran Church in St. Clair with Rev. Matthew Grunewald, Officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home and Crematory in Janesville, and will continue on Wednesday afternoon for one hour prior to services, at church. Karen Marie was born August 30, 1960 to Lyle and Mary (Iverson) Flitter at Immanuel Hospital in Mankato, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair, where she remained a member. Karen was united in marriage to Richard Huber in St. Clair, they later divorced. Karen graduated from St. Clair High School in 1978. Over the years she worked as a rural mail carrier for the Mankato Free Press, worked in housekeeping at the Mankato Golf Club, cleaned houses with her sister, worked in housekeeping at I.S.J., and drilled iron castings for her brother. For the past 16 years she worked as a press operator at Carlson Craft Social until her illness wouldn''t allow her to continue. Her pride and joy and light of her life was her daughter Kendra ("Mousey"). Together they loved caring for their many farm pets, shopping, shopping, shopping, going to the Wild Wood Park, trips up North with the whole family, bike riding, working in their "secret garden", taking ice cream breaks, going to the movies, baking homemade chocolate chip cookies, setting off the smoke detector with their cooking, making chocolate chip pancakes, popping pop corn, making homemade tomato soup, and many family gatherings. Karen was a very caring person and always went the extra mile to help family and friends. She never turned anyone away that was in need. You could always confide in her and know it would never go any further. If you told her that you loved her she always replied "I love you more". Her mother and daughter cared for her the last two years as she fought her lymphoma. Karen always had a smile and thanked you for even the smallest things you did for her. She is survived by her daughter Kendra, at home; by her mother Mary Flitter of rural Eagle Lake; by her siblings, Sheryl (Paul) Lutter of Janesville, Brenda Dunn of New Richland, Mandy (Rick) Laborde of Janesville, Jon (Jackie) Flitter of Janesville, and Rhea (Matt) Riewe of Madison Lake; by her aunt Alice Ann of Wisconsin, and by many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
