JOYCE ANN BARSTAD, age 75 of Waseca, died on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at her home in Waseca.
Born in New Castle, IN on June 11, 1941, Joyce was the daughter of John R. and Hester S. (Logan) Bell.  She went to school in several locations, but graduated from Dawson County High School in Glendive, MT.  On June 2, 1963 she married Merle E. Barstad, Sr. in Glendive, MT.  After moving to Minnesota in 1964 Joyce attended the University of Minnesota in Waseca.  Following the birth of her children, Joyce became a stay at home mother.  She enjoyed activities at her church and local schools.  She enjoyed playing guitar, singing, band and choir, taking family trips, playing summer games, flower gardening, and playing with her grandchildren.  She also liked following the Twins and the Vikings.  She was a member of the Bridgeview Assembly of God Church in Monticello and Christ Community Church in Waseca.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Merle Sr. of Waseca; two children, Merle Jr. (Heidi) Barstad of Waseca, and DeLain (Douglas) Draeger of Waseca; six grandchildren, Alexander, Jacob, and Aliyah Barstad, and Kendra, Brittney, and Kelsey Draeger.  She is also survived by four siblings, Juanita Dellos of Basin, WY, Betty (Leonard) Roehl of Terry, MT, Robert Baker of Glendive, MT, and Leon Baker of Glendive, MT.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents; one sister, Gayle Lapp; her parents-in-law, Einar and Christine Barstad; sisters-in-law, June Sorenson and Joy Baker; brother-in-law, Phillip Dellos; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Christ Community Church in Waseca, with Rev. Chris Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
