Joseph Edward Reichert March 3, 1942 - June 19, 2013

Joseph E. Reichert, age 71, of Faribault, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at his home following an extended illness.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and on Monday for one hour prior to the services at the church. There will be no reviewal at the church on Monday.

Joseph Edward, the son of Gordon and Genevieve (Bouchey) Reichert, was born on March 3, 1942 in Northfield, MN. He attended Faribault schools and served in the U.S. Army, honorably discharged in 1962. He was united in marriage to Ramona Trenda on January 12, 1963 at St. Dominic''s Catholic Church in Northfield. Joe worked for Josten''s in Owatonna for 20 years and most recently was a truck driver with JBJ Manufacturing in Faribault. He was a member of the Rice County Steam and Gas Engines, and the Last Mans Club. Joe enjoyed working on and riding his John Deere B tractor, restoring antique furniture, tinkering with things in his garage, and caring for his lawn to perfection. He loved to venture around town, chatting with friends to catch up, and after retirement spent many hours at Menards. He and Ramona treasured and spent most of their time together. He also spent a great amount of time with his siblings and was quite close with his cousins.

He is survived by his wife, Ramona Reichert of Faribault; four children, Thomas Reichert of Faribault, Robert (Penny) Reichert of Faribault, Donald Reichert of Kilkenny, and Tammy (Mick) Donahue of Faribault; six grandchildren, Kyle and Benjamin Reichert, Miranda and Bailey Reichert, and Marshall and Genevieve Donahue; siblings, Barbara McShane of Faribault, Blanche Reichert of Farmington, and his identical twin, James (Debbie) Reichert of Faribault; his in-laws, Charlotte (Irvin) Becker of Faribault, Sandi

(Terry) Johnson of Shell Lake, WI, and Clancy (Candice) Trenda of Hastings, MN; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Gary Reichert; brother in infancy, Gordon; parents-in-law, Clarence and Albina Trenda; sister-in-law, Joan Trenda; and brothers-in-law, James McShane and Orville Bauer.
