Jerald Smith January 15, 1940 - October 9, 2011

Jerald "Jerry" Smith, age 70, of Plymouth, MN and formerly of Faribault, died on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the Mission Farm Nursing Home in Plymouth. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Jerald Joseph Smith Sr., the son of Joseph and Joyce (Schuller) Smith, was born on January 15, 1941 in Faribault. He attended Waterville High School. Jerry worked as a custodian for the United States Postal Service and for 20 years for Nativity Catholic School in St. Paul, MN. Jerry loved watching Twins and Vikings games and enjoyed playing the piano and cards, especially cribbage. He is survived by his sons, John (Paula) Smith of Woodbury, MN and Jerry (Kathy) Smith of Inver Grove Heights, MN; five grandchildren, Joseph and Gracie, and Jolene, Jacqueline, and Katlyn; siblings, Joanna Angell of Faribault, Dianne (Stan) Roemhildt of Kilkenny, MN, Danny (Heidi) Smith of Maple Grove, MN, Mary Jo (Charlie) Meyer of Faribault, Colleen (Craig) Zahn of Faribault and Teresa Smith of Faribault; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Stanley Kaderlik; sister, Laurie Smith; and brother, Pat Smith.
