Janice D. Simon, age 75, of Faribault, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014, at the Abbott- Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis following a brief illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to services.

The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Rice County Humane Society in memory of Janice.

Janice Delores Souza, the daughter of Frank A. and Fannie (Oliveria) Souza, was born on January 9, 1939 in Fairhaven, MA. She attended Fairhaven High School and graduated with the class of 1958. On February 24, 1960 she was united in marriage to Jerry Daily. They later divorced. On November 4, 1977 she was united in marriage to James Stoltman in Sioux Falls, SD. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2004. On September 4, 2010 Janice was married to Maynard Simon. Janice worked for many years as an assembler at CAKO in Faribault. She also worked at different businesses in Faribault including, Perkins, Wal-Mart, Golden Corral, Lyndale Motel, Community Center and the Rice County Humane Society.

She is survived by her husband Maynard Simon of Faribault; by 8 children, Colleen (Christopher) Goodwin of Faribault, Constance (Jerome) Peters of Kenyon, MN, Richard Daily of Waseca, MN, Robert (Laura) Daily of Faribault, Cheryl Stewart and Rob Mullenberg of Faribault, Rodney (Diane) Daily of Pennington, MN, Roy (Shana) Daily of Northfield, MN and Christina Parkos of Faribault; by several grandchildren and great grandchildren; by her brother, Frank Souza of Massachusetts and by other relatives and

friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her granddaughter, Ashlea Daily.
