Janet Elaine Decoux

Janet Elaine DeCoux March 19, 1948 - October 26, 2013

Janet Elaine DeCoux, age 65 of Faribault, went home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2013, in her home, surrounded by her family after an extended illness.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Christian Family Church, 2300 Heritage Place NW, Owatonna, MN.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Janet was born to John and Amalda (Hanegraaf) Karl on March 19, 1948 in Faribault. She spent her childhood growing up on the family farm in Cannon City Township and graduated from Bethlehem Academy with the class of 1966. On February 10, 1968 she married Dennis DeCoux and raised six children. She had a servants heart and in between raising her children and gardening, she worked various jobs outside of the home cleaning for others, taking care of children, the elderly and disabled, as well as an educator.

She had many gifts in mentoring others, gardening, baking nutritious and delicious bread, carrot cake and muffins. And when presented the opportunity, loved to travel. She will be forever remembered and missed.

Janet is survived by her children, David (Angie) DeCoux of Faribault, Maryl (Troy) Krejci of Blooming Prairie, Benjamin DeCoux (Jessica Rhoades) of Minneapolis, Matthew (Katy) DeCoux of Eagle Lake, MN, and Lewis DeCoux of Minneapolis; her former husband, Dennis DeCoux of Faribault; grandchildren, Jess, Ana, Leah, Eden, Alex, and Grace; brothers, Fran (Ruth) Karl, Larry (Marsha) Karl, and sisters, Sue (Rick) Schultz, Carol (Dick) Vilendrer, and Joanne (Dave) Lippert, all of Faribault; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jean Begin and Ruth Miller; and her

son, Joseph DeCoux.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
