James J. Graff, age 99, of Faribault, MN, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at his residence at Deaconess Towers in Faribault.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Northfield, MN with military honors.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.

James Joseph Graff was born on January 8, 1915, in Northfield to Joseph and Catherine (Broderick) Graff. He attended school in Northfield and was raised on his family''s farm west of Northfield. Jim served in the U.S. Army during WWII. His service in the military took him to many countries including: Northern France, Iceland, Northern Ireland, England, Germany, and Belgium. Jim worked at the Farmer''s Elevator in Northfield for 28 years, then as a custodian at Carleton College for many years until his retirement in 1983. He enjoyed his garden, which produced many vegetables, fruit, and flowers. Jim was a sports enthusiast, especially the Twins and enjoyed playing cards. He was a member of the Northfield Knights of Columbus and the Northfield American Legion Post 84.

He is survived by a step-brother, Milton (Karma) Sticha of Faribault; and numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces; and great great nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Josephine Sticha Graff; three brothers, Leo, Paul, and Arthur Graff; sisters, Frances Becker Schuller, and Alice Schilling; and two nephews.

Memorials may be directed to Divine Mercy Catholic Church in memory of Jim.
