IVER ALLEN BUKER, age 89 of Waseca died on Friday, May 4, 2018 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato surrounded by his family.
Born on October 27, 1928 in Waseca, Minnesota, he was the son of Edwin and Hulda (Rosenthal) Buker.   He attended school in rural Waseca County.  Following his schooling, Iver helped his father farm.   He married Evelyn Leske on February 12, 1952 at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop.  Iver served in the U.S. Army from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1955.   He returned home following the service where he worked in construction for a time before he began farming.  Iver also owned and operated a stump removal business.  He enjoyed watching westerns and spending time with his family.  He was an active member of the VFW where he marched in parades, was a member of the Funeral Honor Guard, and often attended the steak fry with his family.  Iver was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca as well as the American Legion and Military Order of the Cooties.
He is survived by three children, Dean Buker of Faribault, Michael (Jody) Buker of Waseca, and Sandra Raymond of San Bernardino, CA; grandchildren, Bradley (Shelby) Buker, Abraham Ryan, Matthew Buker, Brian Buker, and Stacey Autote; and great grandchildren, Kaiden, Denzel, Brittney, and Abreanna.  He is also survived by one brother, Duane (Arlene) Buker of Waseca; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Buker of Waseca and Adeline Grosam of Gibbon; brother-in-law, Edgar (Doris) Leske of Winthrop and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; granddaughter, Emily Buker; son-in-law, Gary Raymond; brothers, Loren and Gerald; sister-in-law, Clarice Leske; and brother-in-law, Delbert Leske.
Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 4-7 PM and continue on Tuesday, one hour before services at the church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. David Baumgarn officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
