Irene Leach

Irene Leach, age 65, of Waseca passed away peacefully with her husband and son by her side on Friday morning, November 9, 2018, following a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer.
Memorial Service will be 10:30 AM on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Starkson & Steffel Funeral & Cremation Service ~ McRaith Chapel of Waseca. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Vermilion.

Irene Theresa was born on April 5, 1953, in Farmington. She was one of seven girls born to Albert and Ermelinda (Foss) Rother. Irene grew up in Vermilion where she attended grade school. She graduated from Hastings High School with the Class of 1971. On April 27, 1974, Irene was united in marriage to Charles Leach at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Vermilion. Together they lived in Stillwater, Ames, IA, and in 1981, Irene and Charlie made their home in Waseca. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Waseca. She worked various jobs around the area. Most notably, Irene worked for over 30 years for Pearson in Owatonna. In her spare time, Irene enjoyed taking weekend wine trips across the Midwest with Charlie. Above all else, family was most important to Irene as she cherished every moment she spent with her husband, son, grandchildren, and siblings.
Irene will be dearly missed by loving husband of 44 years, Charlie; her son, Adam, his wife Heather and their two children: Madison and Mckenzie; her sisters: Diane (George) Gehrke, Joan (Dave) Kuehn, Pat (Greg) Drahos, Lois (Dave) Dornseif, Joyce (Steve) Norgard, and Theresa (Randy) Komorouski; her father-in-law, Al Leach; her sisters-in-law: Carrie (Loren) Shaleen and Kristen Leach (significant other, Dave Vrchota); her brother-in-law: Curtis (Sue) Leach; grandmother-in-law: Dorothy (Southerland) Martin; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law, Beverly (Martin) Leach.
