INEZ MAE SCHWARTZ, age 88 of Waterville, died on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at District One Hospital in Faribault.
Born in Le Sueur County on October 12, 1928, Inez was the daughter of Edwin and Edna (Ferch) Krueger. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peters "Bell" Lutheran Church. She graduated from Waterville Public School and attended Normal School classes in Le Center and received her teaching certificate. She received her Masters Degree from Mankato State College in 1972. She married Robert Schwartz on August 3, 1948 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Kilkenny. She began her teaching career in 1949 at various country schools and went on to teach in Warsaw and Faribault until her retirement. After retirement she substitute taught for several years in Faribault and Waterville. She taught 3rd grade for most of her career. She touched many young lives and loved them all as if they were her own. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville.
Inez is survived by three sons, Thomas Schwartz of Rogers, Steven (Michelle) Schwartz of Elysian, and Robert (Theresa) Schwartz Jr. of New Ulm; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Janet Schmidtke of Waterville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband; and her parents-in-law, Vincent and Christina (Schlinger) Schwartz.
Visitation will be held from 2-5PM on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville, with Rev. Juan Palm officiating. Interment will follow at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville.
