Harriet Bachrach, age 94, of Faribault, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna following and extended illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday for one hour prior to services. The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Homestead Hospice House of Owatonna in memory of Harriet. Harriet Nolan was born on February 24, 1918 in New Richland Township, Minnesota, to Hugh and Nellie (Marcuson) Nolan. She grew up in Kenyon, Faribault and Owatonna, Minnesota. She graduated Owatonna High School and moved to Rochester, MN, where she worked for the government during the Depression. Later she moved back to Owatonna and worked for Federated Insurance Company where she met James Bachrach from Faribault. They were married on November 20, 1942 and lived in Kansas City where Jim was stationed in the Army. When the war ended, Jim and Harriet moved back to Faribault. Jim worked for his father at Jim and Joe Clothing, eventually taking over the business. Harriet was a housewife and mother of three. She was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing Bridge and golf. She was a long standing member of Keller and Monday Club. Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, sister Ila Siemers, brother-in-law, two nephews, great niece and cousin Joe Bachrach. She is survived by her two sons, Dr. James (Susan) Bachrach of Appalachiacola, FL, Pete (Rebecca) Bachrach of Faribault, and daughter, Liz (Mary) Bachrach of Winona, MN; four grandchildren, Megan (Kurt) Klett of Faribault; Matthew Murray of Washington, D.C.; Brianna Bachrach of St. Paul, MN and Jennifer Bachrach of Faribault; and three great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Aiden and Erin; as well as; nieces, relatives and friends.
