Harold S. Youngerberg, age 90 of Janesville, died on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Janesville Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 31st at 11:00 a.m. at St. John''s Ev. Lutheran Church in Alma City, with Rev. Keith Bilitz officiating. Interment will be in the Smiths Mill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville, and will continue on Saturday morning for one hour prior to services, at church. Harold Sidney was born on February 18, 1920 in McPherson Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota to Herman and Martha (Glamm) Youngerberg. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Smiths Mill. Harold attended Blue Earth County country school. He entered the U.S. Army in April of 1942. Harold served his country during WWII until his honorable discharge in October of 1945. He returned home and on September 4, 1947 was united in marriage to Helen E. Conrath at St. Paul''s German Lake Lutheran Church. Harold farmed all his life in Alton Township, Waseca County, first with his brothers and later with his son Daryl, retiring in 1990. In 1994 Harold and Helen moved into Janesville. He was a long time member of the St. John''s Ev. Lutheran Church where he served as elder on the church council. Harold also served many years on the Alma City Creamery Board. He was a member of the Waseca VFW Sweet-Sommers Post #1642, and the Janesville American Legion Post #281. Harold enjoyed good times with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Helen, his children Deanna Youngerberg, Daryl (Linda) Youngerberg and his grandson Nick Youngerberg, all of Janesville; by his brothers Clarence Youngerberg of Brainerd, Reuben Youngerberg of Janesville, and Herbert (Eleanor) Youngerberg of Waterville; by his sister-in-law Melvina Conrath of Waseca; by many nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his father-in-law and mother-in-law; by his brother-in-law Milton Conrath and his sisters-in-law Ruth Youngerberg and Verna Youngerberg; by many aunts and uncles and cousins. Casketbearers are: Nicholas Youngerberg, Michael Youngerberg, Lon Youngerberg, Larry Youngerberg, Gary Conrath, Jeremy Conrath, and Theodore Conrath.
