Harold (Bill) Mahowald, age 68, of Faribault, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2009 at St. Mary''s Hospital in Rochester, with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morristown, with Rev. Eugene Chase, pastor, officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault. Harold Louis Mahowald, the son of Frank and Lucille (Wagner) Mahowald, was born on April 21, 1941 in New Market, MN. He was raised in New Market and graduated from New Prague High School with the class of 1959. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Aadsen on September 15, 1973 in Scarville, Iowa. Bill owned the Gambles store in Farmington for two years prior to working at Happy Harry''s Furniture in Famington for 29 years. Following his retirement in 2003, he enjoyed winters in Texas and spending time with his grandchildren. Bill enjoyed road trips, pontoon rides, being outdoors and visiting with friends. He was an avid Twins fan and enjoyed his garage full of Twins memorabilia. He will be sincerely missed by his wife, Marilyn; four children, Gerry (Nancy) Mahowald of Faribault, Michelle (Eric) Burright of Eagan, Cheryl (Kent) Skonseng of Savage, and David (Karina) Mahowald of Cannon Falls; nine grandchildren, Baily and William (Little Bill) Mahowald, Isaac, Nicholas, and Jack Burright, Sam and Owen Skonseng, Cole and Josephine Mahowald; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leon Mahowald; and sister, Roselyn Mahowald.
